Palm Desert, CA: The City of Palm Desert this week unveiled the first phase of its Unite Palm Desert Economic Relief package, which is expected to deliver up to $3 million in public support across the community.
Applications are now available for the relief package’s loan program, which will provide up to $1 million in City funds to support Palm Desert restaurants, retail, service industries and small businesses. Under the program, forgivable loans of up to $25,000 are available for small businesses with no more than 25 employees. Loan program applications will be accepted from May 27 through June 3, 2020.
The loan program and its umbrella economic relief package are part of Unite Palm Desert, a campaign created to support and rally Palm Desert residents and businesses through the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath. Designed to rapidly adapt to today’s ever-changing economic and public health landscapes, Unite Palm Desert includes a variety of economic stimulus initiatives such as the aforementioned loan program as well as a hospitality incentive program, community grants, emergency rental assistance, homelessness assistance, and more.
