News from Mission Springs Water District
Desert Hot Springs, CA: At a Special Board Meeting held Monday, March 23, 2020, Mission Springs Water District’s (MSWD) Board of Directors passed a resolution (Resolution 2020-07) declaring a local state of emergency within its service area in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
As water and sewer services are deemed an essential service, MSWD remains open and continues to work for our community during this difficult time for many. MSWD’s customer service team is available to assist with payment plans or questions. There will be no shutoffs until further notice. Customers may also seek bill assistance via MSWD’s “Help2Others” program facilitated by the United Way of the Desert.
MSWD’s lobby remains temporarily closed to the public. MSWD has several payment options available. Customers can pay via phone with credit or debit card by calling 760.329.6448 or visiting www.mswd.org. Cash payments can also be made via the “Pay Near Me” program at 7-11, CVS, and Family Dollar stores.
Additionally, as requested by the County of Riverside, MSWD activated and opened their Emergency Operations Center at a level 3, the lowest activation level on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 5:00 pm. This is a proactive measure to help ensure MSWD, Riverside County, and other agencies are in communication to ensure water and sewer services continue during this significant public health event.
MSWD wants to reassure our community and customers that our water quality and supply remain unaffected. Your tap water is safe to use.
MSWD continues to closely monitor the situation and influx of information. Any vital and important updates will be released to the public as they are received.
