Message from Alzheimer’s Association:
The Alzheimer’s Association of the Coachella Valley, proudly serving the desert comm unities for 20 years, has announced a public Advocacy and Public Policy event on Friday, January 12th, 2018 at Noon at the Classic Club in Palm Desert.
This event will feature updates on the strides made by the Association and its network of Advocates and Ambassadors across the country to keep the needs of individuals and their families who are living with this disease front of mind with our elected representatives locally, state-wide, and across the country.
Attendees will also learn about exciting plans in the area of Public Policy and Advocacy going forward into 2018, and how they can play a role in this important process by becoming an Ambassador or Advocate themselves. It is through these personal stories and testimonies that we ensure that our voices are heard at every level of government, and that Alzheimer’s disease has the funds needed for the research that will bring us new treatments, and one day a cure.
“Alzheimer’s disease is a devastating crisis for the families it affects. And all of us need to be aware of the affect and expense this disease has and will have on our economy” said Linda Evans, Mayor of La Quinta and Chief Strategy Officer for JFK Hospital in Indio, “I urge our valley leadership and residents to attend this important event to gain a better understanding of the disease and the important work the Alzheimer’s Association is doing.”
A complimentary lunch will be served to all attendees of the January 12th event at the Classic Club, which is located in Palm Desert at 75200 Classic Club Blvd. RSVP’s are required at 760-996-0006, and seating is limited.
