News from The City of Coachella
Coachella, California – Capital Partners Development Company, one of the state’s leading builders focusing on complex and hi-tech projects, will break ground in early spring on a new 52,520 square-foot-office building in the city of Coachella. The building will house staff with Riverside County’s Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) Self Sufficiency division.
Coachella Mayor Steven Hernandez said he expects the new building to be a catalyst for further retail development in the city. “This project will develop a critical vacant corner at the gateway to downtown Pueblo Viejo and will bring in 200 or more workers into the area on a daily basis,” said Hernandez.
The two-story, $15 million building will be developed on roughly 4.5 acres on the northeast corner of Sixth and Harrison Streets. The project was approved by the city’s planning department in February and is being developed by John Buckel of Rancho Cordova.
The building will have the capacity to house up to 200 employees, expand education and conference capacity, and include additional spaces for parking.
Coachella is a 29-square-mile area known as the “City of Eternal Sunshine-Gateway to the Salton Sea” with a population of roughly 52,000. Projections are for the city’s population to double in size over the next decade.
