News from the GCVCC Business Legislative Advocacy Committee
The GCVCC has issued a letter of support for Cathedral City’s bid to receive a Caltrans ATP Cycle 5 Grant. The grant application is part of “Connect Cathedral City”, a joint initiative between the City and the Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG) to develop active transportation projects in Cathedral City.
Specifically, the Caltrans’ ATP Cycle 5 funding will be used to construct three active transportation improvement projects that form the “Downtown Cathedral City Connectors”. These include Date Palm Drive, Cathedral Canyon Drive, and East Palm Canyon Drive (Hwy 111). If funded, these improvements will help bridge critical gaps in the City’s active transportation network, enhance the connectivity between Northern Cathedral City to Downtown, and provide opportunities for physical activity and to support the local economy.
