DESCRIPTION:Message from Digicom Learning: \nWe are sure that you have heard that the Coachella Valley Unified School District has had a budget cut of close to 7 million dollars and laid off over a hundred employees including teachers. We have trained teachers and worked with students in CVUSD\, and are setting up more after school programs in the district for next year. They do not pay us to do this. We do this work right now and our of funds are raised privately to support the east valley. Our programs have proven to improve the lives of at risk youth\, and the CVUSD needs it more than ever now. \nWe’d appreciate your business or non profit support as well as bringing people to the event at your table who might be interested in knowing more about what we do as well as possibly contributing at the event. DESCRIPTION:Message from The Unforgettables Foundation: \nThe Unforgettables Foundation\, is a 501(c)(3) organization that operates almost entirely by volunteers\, was formed in 1999 to assist low-income families in Riverside\, San Bernardino and Orange Counties give their children a dignified burial. It provides services to the Coachella Valley from Desert Hot Springs/Palm Springs on the west to Thermal/Indo/Coachella on the east. \nOn April 18\, from 8:00 am – 1:30 pm. The Unforgettables is presenting its 5th Annual Children and Families in Crisis Conference at Cal State University San Bernardino-Palm Desert Campus. The topic for this year’s conference is “Life Saving Parenting: What Works and What Doesn’t”. \nAward winning scholar\, author and international consultant\, Anthony Silard will give the keynote address and will also lead a panel on Emotional Intelligence and Social Media in children. Dr. Silard teaches graduate-level courses in leadership at California State University San Bernardino. He is CEO of The Global Leadership Institute and President of The Center for Social Leadership based in Washington D.C. Riverside County DA\, Mike Hestrin will speak on the topic of “Parenting Gone Bad” and The Olive Crest Foundation will present case studies and didactics. \nThe Children and Families in Crisis Conference has for 5 years presented topics of modern life that can lead to the death of our children. It provides education\, enlightenment that gives attendees insight on how to confront and conquer such threats. Kennedy Memorial Hospital). \nIn addition to celebrating St. Andrew’s historic milestone\, the event’s focus will be the church’s commitment to renewing its relationship with the community. St. Andrew Church is encouraging the community to “Rediscover Your Faith With Us.” \nAs it looks to its future\, the St. Andrew congregation continues to explore ways to reach out to the community and serve its neighbors. Recent activities have included two outdoor services and picnics in Dr. Carreon Park to which neighbors were invited\, a prayer booth at the Indio Tamale Festival\, a week-long free Vacation Bible School each June\, a volunteer reading program at neighboring Dr. Carreon Academy and monthly donations of food\, clothing and other items as well as scheduling volunteer days with several valley charitable agencies. \nSt. Andrew Community Presbyterian Church has a long heritage of serving Jesus Christ in the Coachella Valley\, beginning in 1902. Other exciting performances include routines by the Red Eagles Formation Display\nTeam and acrobatic acts by Jacquie Warda\, Jon Melby and Vicky Benzing. \nThis free\, family fun filled event will include food trucks\, merchandise and specialty vendors. Aviation enthusiasts of all ages can\nexplore and let their imaginations soar through the history and adventure of aviation. \nIn 2004\, the County of Riverside dedicated the Desert Resorts Regional Airport in Thermal in honor of Jacqueline “Jackie” Cochran.\nJackie was one of the most prominent aviators of the 20th century\, and is likely the most important aviator in Riverside County’s\nhistory.
