The event will occur in downtown in front of City Hall\, 68-700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero.  Halloween Spooktacular will include free admission as well as exhibits sponsored by non-profit organizations\, the Cathedral City Police Department and Cathedral City Fire Department. \nFree activities include Trick or Treating for kids with over 20\,000 pieces of candy to be given out thanks to our partnership with La Michoacana Ice Cream Parlor and Candy Store; Halloween costume contests for kids 12 years old and younger – two bikes will be given to the winners every hour; the Cathedral City Police and Fire Departments will be showcasing their fire engines\, police cars\, motorcycle and SWAT units as well as a special K-9 demonstration.  Best of all\, you’ll have an opportunity to get to know those who serve you in a time of need. \nSunLine Transit Agency will also bring back the popular “Bus of Horrors” with new scary zombies and frightening fun! \nCome hungry this year for some delicious BBQ as Bubba’s Bones and Brews for will be there to offer some great lunch items and thirst quenching beverages for the whole family.  Eat at the Halloween Spooktacular picnic tables or bring a blanket for a picnic in the park. \nFinally\, the Mary Pickford Theatre will offer a free Halloween\, kid-friendly movie at 3 pm for the first 135 guests who line up at the theatre. \nFamilies are encouraged to come to this fun\, interactive event where children can trick or treat in a safe environment.  Children will even get a limited number of free trick or treat bags so that they can go home and celebrate with their family in their own neighborhoods as well.  It will be a Spooktacular time!

DESCRIPTION:Event from Cathedral City: \n\nThe Cathedral City Senior Center is hosting its third annual benefit Pasta Dinner on Friday\, Oct. 26.  The Pasta Suprema! event helps underwrite general operating expenses of the Senior Center. \nAn elegant pasta and sauce bar is being hosted by primary event sponsor Nicolino’s Fine Italian Restaurant. This is no typical “spaghetti feed\,” points out Mark Carnevale\, owner of the restaurant. \n“Guests can select their own favorites from an array of pastas\, sausages\, meatballs and delicious sauces\,” he says. \nA no-host wine and beer bar will also be available\, along with a hosted dessert bar. In addition\, there will be a silent auction and raffle. The event will take place in the Senior Center’s main room and adjoining patio. \nExecutive Director Bob McKechnie says\, “We have been very fortunate the past year to gain many new sponsors and friends and acquire grants for specific programs for seniors.  The hardest part is finding money for general operating expenses.  Somehow\, we have to be able to pay for the utilities\, phone\, internet\, staffing\, etc.  So\, these kinds of programs like the Pasta Suprema! help out tremendously!” \nTickets are just $35 per person and are available by calling the Cathedral City Senior Center at 760-321-1548.  The price includes dinner\, salad\, bread and dessert.  There will be continuous dinner seating between 6 pm and 8:30 pm. \nGillian Cross\, President of the Senior Center’s Board says\, “We realize we’re not a big organization even compared to the other local senior centers.  So\, our Board made the concerted decision to have three to four smaller fundraising events a year rather than trying to rely upon one large gala for our funding.  For us\, these three or four events are manageable with our limited staff\, nine-person board of directors and dozens of dedicated volunteers.
