CVHR’s 2017 fundraiser will include dinner, dancing, live music and auctions presented by KMIR’s Janet Zappala and Bryan Gallo. There is also a “horse kissing booth” and jeep tours of the ranch and rescued horses, which will be hosted by Desert Adventures.
Tickets are now on sale at www.cvhorserescue.org and via telephone (760) 808-6279. Pre-sale tickets are $75 per person. Tickets at the gate will be $100 per person (tables of 9 seats at a discount).
The primary purpose of CVHR is to rescue horses from abuse, abandonment, and slaughter. CVHR rescues and rehabilitates horses and finds them forever, loving homes. They give horses sanctuary, love and attention that are too traumatized to ever be adopted. The CVHR engages in charitable and educational activities within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. CVHR connects people with rescued horses to help educate and improve the quality of life for children and adults interacting with horses. Programs offer equine-assisted growth and awareness within the community including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Veterans and Seniors as well as contributing to community service hours for student credit.
CVHR has many needs, which include property upgrades such as solar power and electrical lighting for the arenas and pathways. These additions will give them the ability to offer full-time programs that will accommodate working parents with children that are victims of bullying and trauma, along with veterans who are only available after business hours.
Horses don’t care how much you know, but they know how much you care…
