News from Augustine Casino
Augustine Casino named its annual winners of Team Member and Leader of the Year at a lunch reception held recently at PGA West in La Quinta.
Ricardo “Rick” Castillo, slot tech manager, was honored as Augustine Casino’s Leader of the Year during the annual awards event. Castillo joined Augustine in 2002. His technical leadership and wide-ranging knowledge of the intricacies of the casino floor were a huge asset during the casino’s 2016 casino renovation project. “Rick exemplifies the core values of Augustine Casino by delivering unparalleled guest service while keeping the casino systems running efficiently,” said Oscar Garcia director of slots. “He does whatever it takes to get the job done and is most deserving of this award.”
Alejandro Silva, senior facilities engineer, won the honors as Team Member of the Year. Alejandro has been employed with Augustine more than 14 years and is a “go-to” expert who is relied upon by nearly all departments across the casino. “During his tenure here, Alejandro has become an integral part of the day to day operations of the facilities team,” said Harold Rapp, facilities director. “Alejandro shows dedication by continuing to further his education and constantly working to improve his skill set.”
Winners were selected from among 2016 Team Members and Leaders of the Quarter. Castillo’s and Silva’s awards were announced by Jef Bauer, general manager of Augustine Casino. “I couldn’t be more proud of these two individuals and all their accomplishments during the past year. They exemplify our commitment to service and dedication to the Tribe and its operations here.”
Fellow team members helped create a special surprise tribute video highlighting not only the two winners, but all eight Team Member and Leader finalists who were up for the annual awards.
